“Privileged space”.
Valladolid 2012
One of the interventions made in the workshop/collective action: “Subvertising minds”. That took place within the activities programmed in “calle_museo es_cultura activa” in Valladolid. Sponsored by the National Sculpture Museum of Valladolid.
A series of urban art interventions were carried out on Calle Cadenas de San Gregorio, around the origin of the name of the street itself where it takes place and which is due to the fact that along the facade of the Colegio de San Gregorio, there was a series of stone pillars, placed parallel to it, which supported iron chains.
The presence of these chains proclaimed that the building enjoyed exemption from jurisdiction, that is, whoever took refuge in the enclosure surrounded by the links was exempt from ordinary legislation and submitted to its special jurisdictional jurisdiction.
The memory of that installation has endured in the memory by giving its name to the street to which the façade of the old school opens: “Calle Cadenas de San Gregorio”.
With the participation of:
María José Selgas Cáceres, Mercedes Selgas Cáceres, Mercedes Rodríguez, María Arnaiz, Alicia Rodríguez Rico, Begoña Rodríguez and Mónica Crespo.
